At Ben Youssef Madrasa, every corner feels like a quiet masterpiece, intricately decorated with zellige tiles, carved cedarwood, and sunlight spilling into the serene courtyard.

Built in the 14th century and later rebuilt by the Saadians in the 16th century, it was once the largest Islamic college in North Africa, home to hundreds of students studying the Quran and theology. Today, it stands as a beautifully preserved glimpse into Morocco’s rich intellectual and architectural history.

I wore a soft pink dress to mirror the gentle beauty of the space, and somewhere between wandering and taking it all in, a little girl ran up to me. Her mom brought her over just so she could tell me I looked like a beautiful princess. I suppose it was one of those delightful, unexpected moments that make travel feel a tad more beautiful.

Once a symbol of unimaginable luxury, El Badi Palace now stands in hauntingly beautiful ruins in Marrakech. Built in the 16th century, its vast courtyards, sunken gardens, and reflecting pools still echo the grandeur of a golden era. I carefully chose this red dress to pop against the earthy tones of the palace which adds a bold, striking contrast to the timeless, sun-drenched setting.

I found myself wandering solo through the maze of the medina before finally using GPS to get here, and it was so worth it. The spice shop owners were incredibly warm and welcoming. They clearly know their space is an Instagrammable gem, and one of them offered to take my photos and videos, capturing the moment perfectly. As a small gesture of appreciation, I left a tip and asked them to recommend a nearby place to eat.

They pointed me to Dar Timtam, tucked away in a quiet courtyard, offering a peaceful escape from the chaos and buzzing energy. The restaurant serves an authentic Moroccan three-course meal. The setting was beautiful, the food rich in flavor, and it felt like the perfect ending to a spontaneous little adventure.

You haven’t truly experienced Marrakech if you haven’t stayed in a riad, and Nelia Signature is a perfect example. Nestled down a quiet, winding street, the riad feels like a hidden gem, its beauty and intimacy wrapping you in calm the moment you step inside. Lounging in the pool, surrounded by traditional Moroccan décor and peaceful vibes, it’s the kind of place where time slows down and you can truly soak in the magic of Morocco.

Riad Maison Dar Saada is a luxurious escape just steps from El Fenn Square. The riad combines traditional Moroccan architecture with modern comfort. Its courtyards offer privacy and peace while every room reflects careful craftsmanship.

The pool in the courtyard is stunning. It follows the centuries old tradition of riad design where water creates a serene oasis in the heart of the city. The riad features a spa, which offers a traditional Hammam bath, massages and a pool to relax and rejuvenate following a day of exploring the city.

The Jardin Majorelle is a vibrant oasis in the heart of Marrakech, famous for its cobalt blue accents, exotic plants, and serene pathways. Created in the 1920s by French painter Jacques Majorelle, the garden was later restored by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent and his partner Pierre Bergé, who preserved its lush beauty and opened it to the public. The garden is also the final resting place of Yves Saint Laurent, whose ashes are here, making it a place of both beauty and quiet reflection.

Next door, the Yves Saint Laurent Museum celebrates the life and work of the legendary designer. Opened in 2017, the museum houses iconic pieces, sketches, and exhibitions that showcase Saint Laurent’s deep connection to Marrakech and his influence on fashion worldwide. Visiting both the garden and the museum offers a perfect blend of natural beauty, art, and fashion history in one unforgettable experience

I had an unforgettable cooking class at Riad Le Pelerin that felt like a true immersion into Moroccan culture. We made a vegetable tagine, a traditional dessert, a fresh Moroccan salad, and even learned the art of preparing classic mint tea.

The spread of fresh vegetables, fruits, and aromatic spices laid out on the table was absolutely beautiful. The chef and staff were incredibly friendly, guiding us through each step with patience and warmth. This hands-on experience is a must-do activity for anyone wanting to connect with the flavors, colors, and traditions of Moroccan cuisine.

Nestled in the heart of Marrakech, Les Jardins du Lotus is a hidden retreat with a stunning garden setting. I came mainly for the Instagram worthy, every detail designed to delight the eyes. Breakfast was a lovely bonus, with fresh and vibrant dishes, but the real draw is the serene, beautiful environment that makes you want to linger and soak it all in.

I visited Royal Mansour for a tour of the hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience. The moment you enter, the massive gates set a grand tone that continues throughout the property. Inside, every corner is filled with exquisite artifacts, intricate craftsmanship, and lavish details that showcase Moroccan heritage at its finest. Walking through the halls and courtyards, you feel the scale, luxury, and artistry that make Royal Mansour a true masterpiece.

Amanjena is a stunning luxury retreat just outside Marrakech, inspired by traditional Moroccan architecture. The property is spread across beautifully landscaped gardens with serene waterways, reflecting pools, and elegant pavilions. Every detail, from the intricate arches to the lavish interiors, exudes calm and sophistication. Staying here feels like entering a tranquil oasis where privacy, comfort, and impeccable service come together to create a truly unforgettable experience.
